I simply can not thank you enough. We felt like the most special people in the world. What you have at Southern Ocean Lodge is so much more than the sum of the parts. No surprise that we LOVED the architecture, the grandeur of the setting; the swimming in the pristine waters; the beautiful food so well balanced that you never felt overfull and certainly never hungry; but it was more because of the enormous attention to detail in every part of the experience. Ben and Louise are great managers. Each one of the staff exuded that real sense of hospitality where not only was nothing too much trouble, they were one step ahead of anything we might have wanted. Kangaroo Island has come of age with your belief in it.

The Aman resorts may be a reference model for those who haven't visited the lodge, but frankly I don't believe SOL needs any comparison: my perspective is that it sits in its own right as a destination and in a different space. Kangaroo Island (to be more specific Southern Ocean Lodge) was the best part of our entire trip! Please recommend it to everyone going to Australia. The staff was well trained, fun and really cared about the Lodge, the visitors and the island. We held a baby roo, saw koalas, boxing roos and fur seals! We ate and drank way too much. Best spa we have EVER been to and we always go to the spa. It was life changing!
